Mentored by the late Jack Bickham. . .
I graduated from The University of Oklahoma with a degree in Professional Writing. After years of raising a family and earning a living, and with encouragement from friends, I decided to chase my lifelong dream of writing a novel.
I love history. Always have. So it seemed natural to write a novel of a fascinating time and place swept into the corner of American history. Studying under the likes of Donald Maass, Lisa Cron, and William Bernhardt, I have crafted Moon of Black Hearts, the story of Shad, an African slave of Creek Indians, at the outbreak of the Civil War.
Shad will return in my second novel, Time To Strike.
